Daniel Shattuck, PhD, MPH
Daniel Shattuck, PhD, MPH (he/him) is a Research Scientist at the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation. He is an applied sociocultural anthropologist whose work focuses on advancing health equity through community-engaged research and implementation science. His research emphasizes improving systems of support for youth within educational and school-based health settings across New Mexico. Dr. Shattuck has extensive experience collaborating with school districts, school-based health centers, the New Mexico Public Education Department, and the New Mexico Office of School and Adolescent Health. His work examines the implementation and adaptation of multi-level interventions designed to improve access to equitable, evidence-informed services. He has led qualitative, mixed-method, and longitudinal studies focused on strengthening school-based supports for sexual and gender minority youth, as well as other structurally vulnerable populations. A core component of his work involves applying ethnographic and multimodal research approaches to understand how policies, practices, and organizational contexts shape youth wellbeing.
