Elise Pas, PhD
Elise Pas, PhD, MA (she/her) is Research Professor in the Department of Mental Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her work focuses on promoting youth mental health and social, emotional, and behavioral development in schools. She has developed, adapted, and tested universal and targeted interventions. She has extensively studied positive behavioral interventions and supports, a multitiered system of supports. She recently led the development and pilot testing of a universal high school curriculum to promote community building and student social and emotional skills. Another core focus area is teacher coaching models embedding Motivational Interviewing to promote practices of teachers and optimize student development. Most of her research is inspired by or directly designed through partnership with schools, districts, and/or the state.
