Tracy Evian Waasdorp, PhD

Tracy Evian Waasdorp, PhD,  MSEd (She, Her) is the Director of Research for School-Based Bullying Prevention and Social-Emotional Learning within the Center for Violence Prevention at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She is also a faculty member at CHOP’s PolicyLab and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Waasdorp’s work focuses on promoting children’s social-emotional health through bullying prevention and social skill development programming in schools.  Her research broadly examines peer relationships and aggression, ranging from relational forms such as social exclusion and rumor spreading to peer interactions in today’s digital environments. Using community-based participatory methods, she designs and evaluates evidence-based programs that equip youth and adults with the skills needed to strengthen peer relationships and prevent peer-based aggression in all its forms.
