Research and faculty partnerships
For more than 80 years, the Child Development Lab has supported research that expands our understanding of how children learn, grow and interact with the world around them. As part of Arizona State University, the CDL provides opportunities for faculty members, graduate students and research teams to conduct studies in an active early childhood education setting.
Research conducted through the CDL explores a wide range of topics related to child development, learning, family relationships, language, social development and education. By connecting research with everyday classroom experiences, investigators can examine questions that have practical relevance for children, families and educators.
All research participation is voluntary. Families are informed about research opportunities and may choose whether to participate. Studies are designed to be safe, engaging and developmentally appropriate for young children.
