Sociology at ASU
Sociologists study all the major dimensions of contemporary society and social change.
More than 50 sociologists serve on the faculty, many as leaders in interdisciplinary schools and programs. ASU sociologists are national and international leaders in addressing issues from migration to criminal justice, community revitalization to democracy, climate, environment and sustainability, media and communications, social movements, and social transformation.
Sociologists play important roles throughout ASU’s wide range of educational, research, and public service programs.
Disciplinary degree programs are offered in the Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics and the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Sociologists are also appointed in many interdisciplinary schools and work with many research centers and programs for public and community solutions.
