Educator (CFLE)

There are two levels of CFLE

Provisional Certification

Requirements

  • Demonstrated content knowledge in 10 content areas
  • Not yet earned sufficient work experience to qualify for full status
  • Available for up to 5 years

Qualifications

  • Complete all required courses from the approved CFLE checklist with a C- or higher
  • Graduation from ASU in December 2023 or later (must apply within 2 years of graduation)

How to Apply

  • Submit application materials
    • Completed coursework checklist
    • Official ASU transcripts
  • Read and sign the CFLE Code of Professional Ethics
  • Application fee payment

Full Certification

Requirements

  • Demonstrated content knowledge in 10 content areas
  • Demonstrated sufficient work experience in providing Family Life Education
    • 3,200 hours (Bachelors)
    • 1,600 hours (Masters or Doctorate)
  • Available for yearly renewal

Qualifications

  • Complete all required courses from the approved CFLE checklist with a C- or higher
  • Graduation from ASU in December 2023 or later (must apply within 2 years of graduation)
