Human Community Dynamics and Socioecological Vulnerability in a Biodiversity Hotspot

Activities

In December, 2012, the project held its first research coordination workshop. Investigators met in Tempe, Arizona, for two days to plan research activities for the coming year. Two undergraduate students also participated in some of the meetings.

In May, 2013, Dr. Sharon Hall, Dr. Abigail York, and Jennifer Learned traveled to the field site in Chitwan, Nepal, to conduct preliminary observations and design protocols for the ecological survey and community forest management committee interviews.

In June, 2013, Dr. Dirgha Ghimire traveled to Chitwan, Nepal, to investigate and prepare sampling strategies for the ecological and social surveys.
