In an effort to help you get the most out of your experience in the Valley of the Sun, and see some special parts of Arizona State University, we've created some unique opportunities to share as a group.
Your first June in Arizona may have some surprises waiting. So here are a few tips to help!
You can expect warm to VERY warm days, but "it's a dry heat!" that brings cooler evenings that are perfect for exploring the area. The temperatures inside and outside can also present a challenge, so we weren't kidding about bringing a jacket. The temperatures outside can be scorching, while the temperatures in meeting rooms, restaurants, etc. may be very low. So be prepared for some shifting temps during your visit.
Why do deserts experience such severe temperature shifts?

One early morning (5:30am) during the conference we will schedule a group hike of ASU's historic A-Mountain. With an elevation of 1,398 ft. and situated a short walk from our event location (AC Hotel), it takes just 10 minutes to get to the top to enjoy a spectacular view of the entire Phoenix area.
We have arranged a special VIP tour of ASU's newly remodeled SunDevil Stadium. On this tour you'll not only see the stadium's recent upgrades, but get an inside look at the spaces reserved for ASU athletes and staff (team meeting rooms, weight room facilities, media rooms, NFL wall and special touches which honor one of our greatest local heroes, Pat Tillman.)
Meet in the lobby each night with your follow conference attendees and walk over to the iconic Mill Avenue, the best place to eat, drink and hang out with the locals, just steps away from our host hotel. Downtown Tempe is well-known for its abundance of locally owned restaurants and bars. Once you're done, head north up Mill Avenue to the iconic Tempe Town Lake. Here, you can enjoy five miles of shoreline to walk, run, bike, roller blade, skip, tip toe and jump around. You can rent bicycles at Tempe Boat Rentals, located on the south side of the lake. Stop over and see the Tempe Center for the Arts while you're in the area. They have a free art gallery inside that has great exhibitions featuring local artists. You can also catch a concert, comedy show or theater production here too.
Did you know the special AC Hotel rate of just $94.00/night is valid (4) days before and after the workshop event? This allows you to make the most of your time in AZ. Come early or stay late and make plans to visit the Grand Canyon or scenic Sedona. Or head south to Tucson or historic Tombstone, AZ.
