The Hope Center aims to engage in meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships with community partners. The Hope Center is born out of a partnership between SSFD and  Kids at Hope, a non-profit organization that works across fields (e.g., juvenile justice, schools, communities) to support children and youth outcomes, including hope, via supportive adult relationships. The partnership with Kids at Hope presents no limits on research or academic freedom, but is an opportunity for social embeddedness and community engagements.

Moving forward, we aim to expand community partnerships by researching, contacting, and integrating additional partners who are interested in collaboration with researchers. The Hope Center offers the skills, evidence-based practices, and empirical support to strengthen existing programs and organizations already making an impact in the community, Given the Hope Center’s focus on the importance of emphasizing and supporting individuals’ strengths, we will seek out community partners with similar approaches.
